Underwriting Assistant

We are looking for an Underwriting Assistant to join our distinguished Underwriting Team. 

Job Summary and Internal Customers:

Group Underwriting Administrators will contribute to the achievement of the corporate goals relating to growth, profit, renewal retention and provide adequate service to our constituents. This position will interface with sales department, account services team and producers regularly to see various job responsibilities through to completion. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process eligibility including new and renewal group members, changes, cancellations terminations
  • Issue COC/Prior Coverage/1094-95/Student certification letters upon request
  • Assist UW with: administrating special handling instructions by alerts and documents, calculating prior coverage dates, administrate interoffice new business and renewal notices, review applications for missing information
  • Work with Premium Accounting team on related premium issues. Send invoices and handle corrections
  • Assist brokers, customers, sales and account services with questions via phone, in person or email
  • Assist with URX and UHI eligibility feed
  • Knowledge Skills Abilities (requirements)

The candidate should have previous insurance experience, preferably in Group Administration. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment and be able to make real time / accurate decisions.The candidate should be able to respond efficiently and effectively to internal and external requests.
