Intake Coordinator


Job Summary and Internal Customers:

To provide excellent customer service to members and providers by answering inbound phone calls.  To successfully create medical concierge and pre-cert cases as appropriate on Akeso Care computer systems

Intake Coordinators will interact with Customer Service, Case Managers, and Medical Concierge Representatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take incoming calls from members and providers
  • Ability to obtain all pertinent and critical information necessary to create MCS and Pre-cert cases
  • Explain the precertification process to callers as needed
  • Educate and redirect members on medical concierge services (MCS)
  • Request clinical information as appropriate for Case Manager review
  • Communicate via mail, email, and/or fax to members, providers, or other clients regarding precertification, MCS documentation, and/or other general inquiries
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing goals and meeting key performance metrics
  • Communicate effectively with internal staff as well as with external clients

Knowledge Skills Abilities (requirements)

  • Current Employee of International Medical Group
  • Customer Service experience skills in dealing with the public
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Computer skills and proficiency in operating common office equipment

Preferred Skills

  • Insurance or medical experience
  • Foreign language skills

Additional Notes

  • High school diploma
  • Some college or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to work from 12 PM until 9 PM  Mon-Fri
