  • Location:  Flexible work options: Located in Indianapolis, IN. In Office, Hybrid, or Remote available, but may need to travel to the office

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager is a member of the Enterprise Project Management Office and is responsible for managing company-wide projects. The Senior Project Manager will work with internal stakeholders from every functional area, as well as with external partners and vendors, through every phase of the project management lifecycle. The key to success in this role will be to efficiently manage assigned projects while clearly and concisely communicating deliverable and timeline expectations to stakeholders. Discernment in managing risks and issues and alignment with project sponsors is also critical.
  


 

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Scope Management: Facilitate kickoff and conceptualization meetings in partnership with the project sponsor, product managers and business analysts; define scope and evaluate priorities based on business stakeholder input; establish project success criteria; execute change management plans when required
  • Schedule Management: Manage multiple, concurrent projects throughout the entire project management lifecycle; gather estimates and resource requirements for all phases of the project; create and communicate timelines and key dates to project team members
  • Resource Management: Assemble project teams; identify potential resource constraints and work to resolve with project stakeholders
  • Risk Management: Identify project risks and collaborate with stakeholders to define mitigation strategies; monitor and evaluate risk realization in partnership with the project sponsor; execute issue action plans when risks are realized
  • Communication Management: Communicate regularly with the team to update project status; coordinate communication between internal and external stakeholders as needed; provide regular status updates to project sponsors and key stakeholders
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate cross-functional teams and workstreams to include Sales, Underwriting, Products & Compliance, Marketing & eCommerce, Legal, Finance, IT, Education, and Operations; facilitate project retrospectives to identify, document and action lessons learned for process improvement
  • Help train and mentor other EPMO team members





QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum of 10+ of experience working as a project manager
  • Experience managing project status, schedule, action items, risks, issues and resources with project portfolio management software
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, best practices, standard operating procedures, and process governance
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in an Agile approach to project management
  • Interest in promoting a strong team culture
  • Strong meeting facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated dedication to customer satisfaction
  • Proven success as a collaborative leader who builds trust with business stakeholders while also holding them accountable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, creative problem solving, and innovative thinking skills



PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification or desire to become certified within two years
  • Change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR, Kotter)
  • Organizational agility and transformation experience
  • Experience managing programs comprised of multiple projects
  • Experience with project automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance (especially HIPAA, SOC 2)
  • Comfort with dashboards and reporting tools
  • At least four years of experience working in insurance, health care, or related industries
  • Knowledge of insurance and assistance services products
