SUMMARY

The Senior Business Analyst reviews, analyses, and evaluates client business systems, processes, and needs, in order to maintain and build systems to meet overall business strategies and objectives. Applies a broad knowledge of analysis techniques, methods, and practices to optimise the analysis effort for effectiveness and efficiency. Receives assignments from the Enterprise Project Management Office or the Enterprise Business Requirements Management based on vetted ideations and requests, needs of business partners, and overall departmental needs. Works productively in a fast-paced Agile environment. In addition, the Senior Business Analyst may be required to lead other business analysts in the BA efforts for projects where multiple business analysts are allocated to a project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and manages the requirement effort in assigned projects
  • Meets with stakeholders and other business representatives to elicit requirements and propose solutions
  • Acts as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and external vendors
  • Creates, evaluates, and updates documentation for client needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify software or non-automated business processes
  • Supports the mapping and integration of systems including EDI and other data exchange protocols.
  • Assist in the implementation of new technologies and ensure alignment with business goals
  • Manages business rules and use cases for specific applications and application interactions
  • May evaluate proposed software or software enhancements for feasibility
  • Helps coordinate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, developers, quality assurance resources, and technical experts to support testing based on requirements
  • Performs demos and assists in the production of training materials as needed
  • Reviews and contributes to policies, procedures, and standards for the business analysis team
  • Coaches and performs requirements reviews for more junior business analysts
  • Supports manager of business analysis in BA practice roll out and communications
  • Reports to manager all updates, change of status of all work being performed


QUALIFICATIONS 
  • BS. or B.A. in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience plus 7+ years’ experience as a business analyst required
  • Performed comprehensive analysis and process of U.S. claims for a global organization.
  • Led the successful implementation of auto-adjudication for systems for U.S. healthcare claims within a global organization, enhancing processing efficiency and significantly reducing manual intervention.
  • Designed, implemented, and analyzed Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) integrations, facilitating seamless data exchange between internal systems and external partners.
  • Utilized SQL databases for data analysis, reporting, and mapping integrations with other systems, supporting seamless interoperability and data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrates expertise in analysing and configuring insurance claims systems to optimize operational workflows and ensure system integrity
  • Demonstrated requirements management, elicitation, and documentation skills
  • Proven Leadership in Complex Project Environments: Demonstrated expertise in guiding and leading teams of business analysts through intricate projects.
  • Ability to initiate and coordinate small enhancement efforts independently
  • Triage and coordinate response to incoming production issues and tickets
  • Possess understanding and expertise in the SDLC and knowledge of general principals of application programming, database, and system design
  • Experience in an agile development environment
  • Exhibit confidence and an extensive knowledge of best practices when solving business problems and push creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing process
  • Experience in understanding and documenting business process workflows
  • Excellent professional development skills such as oral and written communications, personal credibility, teamwork, and collaboration
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented and able to work independently as well as within a team and with internal business and technology partners
  • Skilled in building and motivating teams and possess ability to build strategic relationships and influence people at all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Excellent documentation skills, Excellent written and verbal skills, and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of all software methodology types (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)
  • Experience working with Word and Visio in addition to other MS Office tools
