JOB SUMMARY

The Portfolio Manager is a key position within the Products and Compliance Department.  Their primary responsibility is to lead, maintain and develop products to be sold by the enterprise. A Portfolio Manager must have the ability to review, analyze and project manage a variety of products including IPMI, Corporate Insurance and Assistance services markets aligning with IMG’s initiatives and business needs. The review of these products will also encompass reviewing pertinent competitor’s products, pricing, and their benefit structures. From the analysis responsibilities, a Portfolio Manager will provide input to develop, scrutinize, and track product alterations and revisions in accordance with IMG’s business needs, specific product channels and all portfolios of IMG’s business. In addition, their responsibilities require liaising with other departments and product subject matter experts to define scope of required updates to benefits, certificate wordings, and processes surrounding renewals and newly executed programs, in an effort to prepare and aid the enterprise in the overall products implementation process.

Key duties involve the project management of an enterprise product calendar (reporting of progress and calendar tracking for specified launch dates), new products and communication with various departments throughout a products Project Charter process.  Other key duties include drafting of a Business Requirements Document, maintaining historical tracking of final changes made to the various plans, communicating to all internal clients on final product outcome and safeguarding that the process follows standard operating procedures. Lastly, this position requires management of the data collected and memorializing for future reference and comparisons. 

Departments that will predominately require interaction with the Portfolio Manager are: EPMO, BI, Operations, Underwriting, Claims, Sales, Legal and Marketing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead implementations of high strategic importance from pre-sales support through post launch optimization, with limited management oversight.
  • Identify and escalate potential implementation risks
  • Manage both client and internal communication and exception processes associated with mitigating those risks properly and proactively.
  • Manage projects through all phases of the life cycle, including project initiation, requirements, design, testing, implementation and post implementation review.
  • Ensure that communication plans are documented and completed for new product launches.
  • Monitor the status of specific project dependencies related to the project incorporating such constraints into the plan.
  • Identify and collaborate to prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks.
  • Working with marketing and design to create product collateral to support product implementation activities, creating internal guides for platform implementations for different partner use cases, and maintaining the source of truth on how each partner is integrated into the platform
  • Determines appropriate benefits by studying provisions of Policy, Certificate or Plan Documents.
  • Maintain the Corporate Product Calendar
  • Draft Business Requirements for Product Updates and Developments
  • Set meetings to kick off the product update or development process
  • Reviews documents from a variety of perspectives to assist Sales with clear and concise materials for the marketplace.
  • Assists with legal compliance by following company policies, procedures, guidelines, as well as state and federal insurance regulations.


 

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Minimum (5) Years’ Experience in Claims Examining, Underwriting, Insurance Sales, Insurance Benefits, Project Management, or relevant experience
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams etc.)
  • Ability to analyze information and Problem-solving skills
  • Customer focus – ability to write and review content with a customer-focused approach
  • Knowledge of FDA Health and HIPAA Regulations or relevant insurance regulations
  • General math skills
  • Statistical analysis skills – review and analyze data and provide comparison information

  • Project management or similar experience with ability to balance priorities and consistently meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and the ability to remain organized
  • Ability to comprehend contracts and documents
