JOB SUMMARY
The Travel Underwriter is responsible for the review and analysis of risk presented on individual and group travel product platforms. This position involves the use of various pricing models and analysis techniques. This position will work closely with members of the sales team, account services team, product team and legal team, as well as be responsible for maintaining producer and carrier relationships outside of the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review new business RFP’s and determine appropriate pricing
- Evaluate product renewals and make pricing recommendations
- Review policy change requests and perform plan change calculations
- Assist in product development process and implementation of new products
- Complete financial exhibits and develop performance reports when requested
- Work directly with risk carrier and pricing actuaries
- Work within authority limits and underwriting guidelines
- Use the appropriate pricing tools and experience rating templates in preparing the pricing for both new and renewal business
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience related to US admitted travel product underwriting in an insurance environment
- Comprehensive understanding of the travel insurance industry and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of the financial fundamentals used in risk analysis, including loss trends and historical experience forecasting methodologies
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Requires strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially in using Excel, Word, PowerBI and PowerPoint
PREFERRED SKILLS
- BA/BS in Insurance or related field
- Strong knowledge of travel industry structure and dynamics
